Costume Colloquium towards a sustainable future 15 years later

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Palazzo Coppini’s opening, there will be an event that aims to retrace the milestones that have characterized one of the longest-running initiatives in the history of Life Beyond Tourism: the Costume Colloquium. The in-depth meeting will take place on June 20th at 4:30 PM at Palazzo Coppini.

After fifteen years since the first edition of the Costume Colloquium, in a hybrid format, a dedicated room will be inaugurated at Palazzo Coppini, showcasing the renowned biennial conference that has represented important moments of meeting, exchange, and deepening of understanding the language of clothing and fashion in all its various forms, including those of performance. Speakers will include Carlotta Del Bianco, President of the Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation, Filippo Guarini, Director of the Textile Museum of Prato, who will discuss the museum’s evolution over the past 15 years as a central hub of Prato’s industrial district, projecting towards the future, sustainability, and inclusion. Mary Westerman Bulgarella, Scientific Coordinator from Chicago, and Professor Teresa Pasqui from the University of Florence will also participate, with special guest Joanna Marschner, Senior Curator at Historic Royal Palaces in London.
