Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about the initiative, how to participate, and what to expect. Whether you’re a first-time storyteller or a returning contributor, this section will help guide you through the process and clarify everything you need to know.

What is the Storytellathon?
The Storytellathon is an international initiative promoted by the Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation – Life Beyond Tourism®, aimed at enhancing cultural heritage through the creation of original storytelling-based itineraries. It’s a call to creatively tell the stories of places, promoting conscious, meaningful, and inclusive travel.
Who can participate?
Students, young professionals, creatives, researchers, universities, local institutions, associations, and anyone eager to share their territory through storytelling. Both individuals and teams are welcome.
What do I need to create?
A 5–10-minute video pitch (max 100 MB) presentation of a cultural narrative itinerary, in which you should explain:
- The chosen locations and the narrative thread
- The visitor experience you aim to offer
- Your chosen storytelling techniques (e.g. voice-over, theatre, illustrations, comics, interactive signage, etc.)
What types of itineraries are accepted?
Two options:
- Geographic Itinerary – focused on a specific area (neighborhood, city, valley, etc.) with a cohesive story.
- Thematic Itinerary – centered on a theme (music, cuisine, craftsmanship, etc.) connecting locations even if far apart.
How do I participate?
Submit your video presentation in English along with all required materials (image, map, description, bio, etc.) by July 15, 2025. After registering, you will receive a link to upload your files.
Does the itinerary need to be already implemented?
No! You just need to present a well-structured concept. The Storytellathon is meant to help bring your creative idea to life and give it visibility.
Is training support available?
Yes! You can opt for a personalized coaching package, including 3 sessions with an expert to refine your proposal — boosting your chances of success.
What are the rewards and opportunities?
- International visibility on the Luoghi Parlanti platform and publications
- Live presentation at The World in Florence 2025 for the winners
- Awards in 7 different categories, including accommodation in Florence
- Networking with professionals and peers
- Possibility for your itinerary to be adopted by cultural institutions
What are the participation fees?
Depends on the selected package:

Important dates
- July 15, 2025 – Deadline for registration and material submission
- July 28–29, 2025 – Jury evaluation
- By July 31, 2025 – Winners announced
- November 2025 – Final event in Florence
