UNINET ERASMUS+ Project Summer School

 

The first Summer School of ERASMUS+ Project “UNINET – University Network for Cultural Heritage – Integrated Protection, Management and Use” – Lublin (Poland), 23-27 September 2019

The Foundation is a partner of the UNINET Consortium of universities and NGOs aimed to create a curriculum for a course on Integrated Protection, Management and Use of Architectural Heritage for architects, archaeologists and landscape designers.

Following the organizational meeting in Warsaw on 22 September 2019, the first summer school of the UNINET will take place on 23-27 September 2019 in Lublin (Poland) and the First Handbook Best Practice Handbook on Sustainable Protection of Cultural Heritage, (consisting of 9 chapters and 8 “case studies” among which Palazzo Coppini is one of the presented case studies for the protection management and use, will be the basic didactic material for the students attending. The Unit “Protection of architectural heritage” has being prepared by Technical University of Lublin and Fondazione Romualdo Del Bianco, with its Life Beyond Tourism Model; while the other two units ”Protection of archaeological heritage” and “Protection of cultural landscape” will be prepared by the University of Florence and the ICOMOS Poland National Committee.

Finally, during the Summer School the lecturers by the academic partners of the project will conduct classes based on didactic materials and case studies presented in the Handbook.

Students from the academic partners of the UNINET project are expected to participate. The possibility for external participants (costs at their charge) is envisaged: please send the application form included to secretarygeneral@fondazione-delbianco.org

ABOUT THE PROJECT UNINET: University Network for Cultural Heritage
– Integrated Protection, Management and Use

Now, in a rapidly changing world, issue of heritage protection and use is one of the most important problems of modern countries and societies. Cultural heritage represents big potential for economic growth, generating value and thereby directly benefiting citizens. Finding better balance between preservation of cultural heritage and sustainable socio-economic development of regions is necessary. Therefore there is need for development of teaching programme enabling educating specialists able to apply modern, attractive forms of re-use, management and protection of heritage, while preserving its historical value.

AIM OF PROJECT is to create the international cooperation network of researchers, academic teachers and practitioners specialising in various fields of management, protection and use of cultural heritage. University Network for Cultural Heritage – Integrated Protection, Management and Use will collect, elaborate and share knowledge in the field of protection, management and use of heritage, archaeology, architecture and cultural landscapes in order to develop the interdisciplinary programme of the Course on Integrated Protection, Management and Use of Cultural Heritage. The course will combine the issues of protection, management and use of 3 types of cultural heritage: architectural heritage, archaeological heritage and cultural landscape.
