The World in Florence
Heritage: Peace & Move
The World in Florence is an international festival launched in 2021 as a concrete outcome of the project “Florence in the World – The World in Florence” and the appeal “Building Peace through Heritage”, presented in Baku in 2019. In just four years, it has grown into a global laboratory for intercultural dialogue, territorial storytelling, and responsible tourism, involving over 30 countries and hundreds of young people, universities, institutions, and local communities. The festival gives voice to a new generation of heritage narrators, promoting a more inclusive and sustainable way of traveling.
Through multimedia exhibitions, international conferences, educational activities, and artistic performances, each edition has explored key themes such as social cohesion, cultural diversity, resilience to mass tourism, and sustainable local development. The 2025 edition, Heritage: Peace & Move, marks the end of the first five-year cycle and sets the stage for the International Workshop of Best Practices, an annual event that will establish Florence as a global hub for heritage-driven cultural change.

Life Beyond Tourism is a philosophy and ethic conceived by the Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation. At its core, It believes in building peace through heritage — a journey made possible when sincere dialogue flows across cultures, especially in the shared beauty of World Heritage Sites.
Through this approach, these sites can become active places of encounter and understanding, rather than passive tourist destinations. In doing so, we open the door to developing new products or services that are not directly tied to heritage, but made possible by it—encouraging sustainable and meaningful local growth.
