• Profile

Ceccano is a municipality in the province of Frosinone, Lazio, central Italy, of 23.504 people.

“The position of the village is picturesque, on the side of a hill overlooking the Sacco valley, which passes through it. There is healthy air there, and it is, in the summer, frequented by foreigners. It was always considered as an ancient village, and in many parchments it is designated as a city. Its oldest part, which was surrounded by walls by Pope Silverio, lies on the hill, while the building on the floor is more recent and elegant. […] In Ceccano, the main industry is the manufacture of spirits: there is a paper-straw mill, and lime kilns. The territory is rich in cereals, wine, vegetables, and fruit. ”
Enrico Abbate, Guida alla Provincia di Roma, Roma, 1890.
